Irish Champions Weekend 1일차 두번째 대상경주

[해외경마] 3세 이상 암말 경주 매트론 스테익스(Matron Stakes)는 아일랜드 더블린 시내에서 남쪽으로 약 10km 떨어진 레퍼즈타운(Leopardstown) 경마장에서 개최하는 1600미터 G1 마일경주이다.

동명의 다른 나라 경주와 구별하기 위해 아일랜드 매트론 스테익스로 부른다.

2004년부터 아일랜드 경주마 생산자 쿨모어 스터드(Coolmore Stud)가 대회 스폰서가 되어 경주 타이틀 앞에 Coolmore Fastnet Rock가 붙는다.

2004년부터 G1으로 격상되었으며 아일랜드 최고 수준의 암말경주이다. 1착 상금은 30만 유로(약 4억원)이다.

9월 14일(토) 더블린 레퍼즈타운(Leopardstown) 경마장, 15일(일) 킬데어 커리(Curragh) 경마장에서 개최한다.

명품 시계 론진(Longines)이 대회 스폰서이기 때문에 LICW(Longines Irish Champions Weekend)라고 한다.
