[세계의 경마] 브리더스컵 챌린지 2세 암말경주 Moyglare Stud Stakes

아이리쉬 챔피언 위켄드(Irish Champions Weekend) 2일차 G1 대상경주

[해외경마] 2세 암말 최강자를 가리는 모이글레어 스터드 스테익스(Moyglare Stud Stakes)는 아일랜드 커리경마장(Curragh Race Course)에서 9월에 시행하는 1400미터 G1 대상경주다.

1975년 세계 경마에 큰 영향을 미친 스위스 출신 사업가 월터 헤프너(Walter Haefner) 소유의 아일랜드 경주마 생산목장 모이글레어 스터드 팜(Moyglare Stud Farm)을 기념하여 6펄롱(1200m) 2세 암말 경주로 창설되었다. 1983년에 G1으로 승격되었고 1992년에 1400m로 거리가 연장되었다.

2009년부터 브리더스컵 챌린지(The Breeders’ Cup Challenge) 시리즈에 포함되었으며 우승마는 11월 1일(금) 경마 올림픽 브리더스컵 1일차에 시행하는 2세마 경주중의 하나인 암말경주 주브나일 필리즈 터프(Juvenile Fillies Turf) 우선 출전권이 주어진다.

아이리쉬 챔피언 위켄드(Irish Champions Weekend) 경마축제 이틀간 개최!

9월 14일(토) 더블린 레퍼즈타운(Leopardstown) 경마장, 15일(일) 킬데어 커리(Curragh) 경마장에서 개최한다. 명품 시계 론진(Longines)이 대회 스폰서이기 때문에 LICW(Longines Irish Champions Weekend)라고 한다.

Longines Irish Champions Weekend is one of the biggest social and sporting events in Ireland. Get involved in a jam-packed programme over the two-day event which takes place across two world-class racecourses, Leopardstown in County Dublin and the Curragh in County Kildare.
