[해외경마] 1919년에 창설된 3세 이상 오픈 자키클럽 골드컵 스테익스(Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes)는 미국 뉴욕주 벨몬트파크 경마장 모래주로 2000미터에서 시행하는 G1 대상경주다.

삼관경주에 출전한 3세마와 기존마들이 첫 격돌하는 경주로 브리더스컵 챌린지 시리즈(Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series)에 지정된 경주다.

우승마에 11월 경마 올림픽 브리더스컵 클래식(Breeders’ Cup Classic) 우선 출전권이 주어진다.

5두가 출전한 올해 대회는 후미에서 경주를 전개한 인기 2위의 Code of Honor가 선행을 나간 인기 4위의 Vino Rosso와 직선주로 경합 끝에 코차로 2착을 했지만 3번의 주행방해로 심의에 걸려 1, 2착 순위가 변경되었다.

3착은 4마신차로 인기 3위의 1번 Tacitus, 인기 1위의 4번 Preservationist는 4착에 그쳤다. [상세]
