블루치퍼의 브리더스컵 월드 챔피언쉽 (Breeders’ Cup World Championships) 도전
한국마사회가 약 10분간의 2019 미국 브리더스컵 원정기 다큐멘터리를 제작했다. 최병부 마주를 비롯하여 김낙순 마사회장도 등장한다.
프라비앙 프랫(Flavien Prat) 기수가 기승한 한국대표마 블루치퍼(Blue Chipper)는 11월 2일(토) 캘리포니아 산타아니타(Santa Anita) 경마장에서 열린 국제경마대회 브리더스컵 더트마일(Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile)에 출전하여 3착의 쾌거를 이루었다.
선행으로 경주를 주도한 인기 4위 스펀투런(Spun to Run)이 그대로 도주하여 1착, 2위권의 블루치퍼는 압도적 인기의 오마하 비치(Omaha Beach)에 추격을 허용하여 3착으로 도착했다.
부경의 김영관 조교사는 다음 날 3일 열린 2019 대통령배 (G1, 2000m) 대상경주에서 트리플나인의 4연패에 이어 소속마 뉴레전드가 우승하며 5년 연속 대통령배를 제패하는 경사를 맞았다.

Traveling from Seoul in South Korea to Santa Anita Race Track in California, the Breeders’ Cup 2019 Dirt Mile saw the final leg of BLUE CHIPPER’s global racing journey.
The son of dual BC Classic winner Tiznow is trained by Kim Young Kwan and was ridden by Flavien Prat, finishing a creditable third behind Spun To Run and Omaha Beach.
Blue Chipper’s other notable career performances include victories in the Korea Sprint (local Group 1) and G3 Owners’ Cup.
